Merry Christmas From The Beer Healer

Can you believe that it is almost Christmas already? This last year has absolutely flown by, and now it is time for us to eat, drink, and be merry for a whole month!

What have you got planned for the holidays? Perhaps some time in the sun at the shack with the family, like I will be doing? If you are one of my Northern Hemisphere readers, warm weather on Christmas Day will be a foreign concept to you, as you shovel snow off your paths, light fires and sip egg nog to keep yourselves warm (or drunk if that is what it takes at your house). If you are doing the Chevy Chase style Xmas and will be taking a road trip to, or will be hosting, a big family reunion…I hope that you escape with your sanity come Boxing Day! However you choose to spend your holidays, I wish you all the best for a safe and happy Christmas and New Year!

Now, if you have been following this blog for the last few months you would know that I have been posting a story on Mondays and a Beer Review (of sorts) on Wednesdays…for the month of December I am going to step It up a notch and post every single day! Yeah, I know, this us HUGE…almost as huge as 7 Minute Abs!

My virtual gift to my readers this Christmas is a Beer Advent Calendar. I bought one recently from and will post a quick picture and thought about the beer I sample each day in the lead up to Christmas…these posts will begin tomorrow.

What is a Beer Advent Calendar, I hear you ask…oh come on, it’s not that hard…take out the kids chocolates and reaplce them with different beers…get it? I have seen dodgy versions of these in the past where you just take a normal carton of beer and draw numbers on the top and draw out a bottle each day, but this is the first time I have seen it done in this way with craft beer. If you hurry, you may even be able to get one delivered to you before the big fella in the red suit comes. If not, you can always head down to your local Dan Murphys and find this little beauty from Bridge Road Brewers and friends?

What will tomorrow bring? I am so excited…I feel like my kids when they run out each morning to open their calendars and taste the sweet joy of the cheap-as chocolate they throw into their mouth! The difference is that mine will be of a night time, as I relax after the kids have gone to bed and I taste the sweet joy that only water hops, malt and yeast can provide!

I really hope you enjoy my posts this Christmas, let me know if you agree or disagree with me, and feel free to share my posts via whichever social media site you spend your days obsessing over!

I will get back to my regular posting schedule in the new year, so in the meantime…shoot me an email or leave a comment, or you can share my posts and photos on facebook, twitter, or instagram!

Cheers to Christmas Beers!
